Your day has a higher probability of being 'perfect' if you start out eating or drinking the right foods. As tempting as it may be to just reach for the coffee pot first thing in the morning, maybe try a fresher starter with a tall glass of lemon water.
We know, it may not sound like the easiest thing to swallow at 6 or 7 in the morning, but the feeling your body gets will have you craving it the next day. Plus, a little touch of honey makes the 'medicine' go down easy.
The first time we heard of drinking lemon water in the morning we instantly thought of all the acidity the lemons will cause on our bodies. We already know that our bodies are way too acidic to begin with, especially in the morning. However, upon further insight, we found that lemons actually have an alkalizing effect on the body, meaning they help to lower your overall acidity and bring your body into a more alkaline, or balanced, level.
Making this morning cocktail couldn't be easier. On the run, you can just add a splash of lemon juice (suggest using organic) to a glass of water. For a more relaxing, digestible version, add a couple tablespoons of lemon juice (again, fresh squeezed or bottled) into lukewarm water and add a touch of honey.
